Can I compile the new kernel-2.6.10 on an development pc and then copy it to the old kernel-2.4.29? Like this way: - compile and install kernel-2.6.10 on the development pc - copy bzImage and System.map to the Linux-2.4.29 - copy /lib/modules/2.6.10 to the new linux - configure bootmanager Are there more things I have to do/copy? On the development pc i can compile and install the new module tools to a specific directory. But how can I get it working on the White Dwarf linux(robot)? Because I can not compile on the White Dwarf linux, there is no gcc installed. So I copied the compiled module tools directory to the robot them, but when i start the new ./lsmod I get this error meassage: >>> ./lsmod: /lib/libc.so.6: version "GLIBC_2.3" not found (required by ./lsmod) > yes, you need a newer version of module tools for 2.6 > > s > > On Oct 12, 2005, at 7:01 AM, Thomas Kern wrote: > >> So, I now have tested some kernel configs, and I have a working 2.6.10 >> kernel.
