I have a 2.1 WDL kernel and compiled support for Video4linux. I have tried an ov518 based webcam with it and the driver modules compile and install, and the camera is recognized properly by the driver as far as I can tell. However, I run image capturing software from the command prompt and the output (a jpg file) is unrecognizable garbage. I did a 'locate' command for the jpeg compression library and found nothing. I also tried a Logitech camera with another driver and had the same problem when trying to capture frames in ppm or jpg format. The Logitech camera works with the same driver modules on a Redhat system. Does WDL not have library support for jpeg or other image format compression? For our project, that is not a vital necessity since we will be processing raw data, but to test the driver I had thought I would get an image file. Please advise, Andrew -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.emji.net/pipermail/wd_general/attachments/20050207/fbf9c1f0/attachment.htm
