From apacker at biosonicsinc.com Mon Aug 15 18:45:46 2005 From: apacker at biosonicsinc.com (Asa Packer) Date: Mon Aug 15 20:36:54 2005 Subject: [Wd_general] thttpd question Message-ID: <002c01c5a1fb$d74e8e00$6600000a@Hammerfish> Hello Scott (and others), I am using the thttpd-2.25b-i386-1.tgz package with White Dwarf 2.1 on a Kontron MOPS/520. I have a CGI script that can take a while to complete (it controls a motor, and has to wait for the motor to scan to its start position before continuing), and it seems to be getting timed out by thttpd. From the thttpd source distribution, it looks like there is a parameter one can set in thttpd's config.h when compiling thttpd, CGI_TIMEOUT, which I probably need to increase. I was wondering what parameters the existing package was compiled with? I'd like to change only that one value if possible. Was it compiled with the default values that come with thttpd, or was there some tuning done for use with White Dwarf? Thanks! And I had a working White Dwarf 2.2.0 installed, but now it hangs when booting, and it tells me to try "fsck manually" cause of error on the hda. But I can not login to start the fsck manually. The FAQ on the www.blast.com sites describes to use "ALT F2 or F3" to get to another console, but this is not working, I do not get another console! Then i tried to install White Dwarf new. So i insert the Boot-install-disk, but the disk is not booting, always get something like: L 10 10 10 10 10 10 or: L 02 02 02.... Before i tried to boot i always checked the time and date in the bios. Also a problem described in the FAQ. Somebody is having an idea, how i can rescue or install the system new? But, I can't login to start the fsck manually. I tried "ALT F2 or F3" to get another console. This Linux installed on 96 MB hard-disk. So, I can't again reinstall on it. I see mention of a package to download kernel-headers, but then one is faced by all the various slackware version if trying to download this from the slackware site. Which version of Slackware is WD 2.2 hooked up to? PS Is it possible to install & Recompile the kernel on a WD2.2 based installation? If it is possible, which packages will all be required to be installed? ----- Alex Cellarius --------------- Systems 104 Technology (Pty) Ltd(1998/16532/07) Authorised distributor of QNX RTOS, Vendor of PC/104 SBCs and other related products For postal items, please use: PO Box 25736, Monument Park, 0105 South Africa Delivery Address: 29 Bushbuck Ave, Monument Park, Pretoria Office Address: 27 Tsessebe Ave, Monument Park, Pretoria Tel:012-346-5437 Fax:012-346-5438 Cell phone:083-627-8657 International: 27 12-346-5437 Fax:27-12-346-5438 Cell phone:27-83-627-8657 http://www.systems104.co.za Skype Me: callto://alexc1234 (request authorisation first via Skype) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. If you have installed WD to use DHCP by default, then this script will show you the steps. When starting pppd on wdlinux shows, I see the text string 'CLIENTCLIENT' text string coming out from the /dev/ttyS0 serial according to the setup in /etc/pppd/winppp.chat script. On the wdlinux console that started the pppd , shows the following : Serial connection established. Couldn't set tty to PPP discipline: Invalid argument then pppd just dies. Should 2.4.24 kernel support pppd just with this settings done?
