Dear Previous SBS Attendees,
Sustainable biodiesel is making headway as a concept while concerns
about unsustainable biodiesel are being voiced louder and louder by
the American public. Planning for the 2008 SBS is underway and we want
your input on how to make this year valuable to you. We're interested
in what content you are looking for, what your thoughts are on some
organizational changes, and whether you would like to volunteer or
sponsor. Please fill out the short questionnaire below and email it to
sarahope at sustainable-biodiesel.org.
The NBB is going to have a session (not a track) on sustainability,
run by Kent Bullard. This session will mainly address general
sustainability issues in the industry and introduce some of the
criteria from the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance.
(www.sustainablebiodieselalliance.org). We'll keep informed on
developments in that arena.
The NBB has offered to co-locate our conference in their facility this
year and possibly list SBS on their website, with the possibility of
further integration in the future. Is this the route you'd like to
take? For example, we may not be able to have the event catered with
local organic food; on the other hand, we may be able to bring the
message of sustainability to a much wider audience.
Please send your input to sarahope at sustainable-biodiesel.org by 10/26/07.
1. What topics would be most valuable to you? What do you think is
important for us to cover in a summit that reaches out beyond "the
converted"?
2. Are there presenters you've heard that we might want to consider
for our line-up this year? (Explain what topic they would cover/ why
you are interested in them.)
3. Do you have any suggestions for improvement or requests for this
year's summit?
4. Is your business/organization interested in sponsoring the SBS this year?
5. Can you recommend other businesses/organizations that could sponsor
the SBS this year?
6. We count on volunteers to make each conference successful and to
keep costs as low as possible. Please let us know if you are able to
volunteer to help plan or implement SBS 2008. Even small amounts of
time are helpful.
7. Are there other ways you could contribute to SBS2008?
Thank you for your time.
